Layered Protection

Each Scout uses a 4 stage approach to ensure pure, safe water, every time.

Our custom two-stage intake filter uses a coarse outer screen and an ultra-fine 60-mesh stainless inner filter to block debris, sand, and sediment before they reach your Scout. An in-house rubber sleeve keeps the filter lifted off the bottom, preventing clogging in shallow or silty water. Built tough for Australian conditions.

The 5 LPM boost pump delivers only the water your high-pressure pump needs, pushing a controlled flow through the washable, easily replaceable 5-micron cartridge filter for smoother operation, better protection, and longer membrane life.

The stainless steel high-pressure pump drives the raw water through the reverse osmosis membrane, forcing it across a 0.0001-micron barrier that removes bacteria, viruses, salts, chemicals, and heavy metals. This is the stage that turns raw water into clean, safe, drinkable freshwater with consistent purity and reliability.

Built into every Scout is an LED UV steriliser that treats the final water stream with high-intensity ultraviolet light, neutralising bacteria and viruses without chemicals. It provides an additional purification layer, ensuring the water entering your tank is safe, clean, and reliably disinfected in all operating conditions.

Frequently asked questions

What type of water can the Scout purify?

The Scout is designed to produce safe drinking water from both seawater and freshwater sources. It handles river, lake, and bore water as easily as seawater, using advanced reverse osmosis and UV sterilisation. It’s not suitable for stagnant or visibly contaminated water (e.g., blue-green algae blooms).

How much water do I need — is the Scout big enough for me?

For most crews, yes. A practical rule is 5–10 L per person/day for drinking + cooking (add more if you’re doing long showers).

At 20 L/h, Scout makes:

  • 40 L in 2 h (2 people, a full day’s drinking/cooking)
  • 60 L in 3 h (3–4 people, light dishwashing)
  • 100 L in 5 h (family/day-trip top-up)Because it’s 12 V, you can let it tick away while you sail, fish, or sit at anchor—no generator sessions needed. That “background trickle” quietly keeps you topped up.
What maintenance does it need?

Scout is designed for simple, field-ready maintenance. After each use, a short freshwater flush helps preserve the membranes. Filters are easily replaceable, and the system can be fully serviced using standard tools (which we provide with each unit). LEDI offers complete service kits and step-by-step guides for owners.

Where are your products manufactured?

The Scout is designed and built in the Gold Coast Australia.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer free shipping within Australia for the Scout. Off shore shipping can be quoted separately.

When will I get my order?

We try our best to get your order out within a week or two. Each unit is built and tested on site so there can be slight delays during high demand periods. Don't worry, we will keep you up to date. If you need it urgently for a trip, let us know!
